BEATA NAGÓRNIEWICZ, MASTER STUDENT, NANOTECHNOLOGY

Hi, my name is Beata. At the moment I am taking the Double Degree in Nanotechnology, which is offered by the University of Twente and the Lodz University of Technology.

Very well acknowledged university with great interest in nanotechnology

I have chosen to study at the University of Twente because it’s a very well acknowledged university with great interest in nanotechnology. Moreover, my home university has a combined programme with the University of Twente and the Double Degree diploma was a unique chance that I couldn't miss. I find nanotechnology very promising, interesting and novel, with great potential of bringing breakthroughs in many fields. In my future I would like to work in the field of targeted drug delivery, for which nanotechnology can mean a lot.

Being led by great researchers I managed to develop a simple targeting vehicle

I am mostly interested in nanomedicine, so I follow courses focused on nanomedicine and bionanotechnology. The Nanomedicine course was very interesting and covered a wide spectrum of topics with some practical insights on introducing new medications into the market. In the project, we were put into the position of applying for a research grant for our own, independently developed idea.

During my Master’s project I worked on a very interesting project focused on active targeting of the drug. Being led by great researchers I managed to develop a simple targeting vehicle, which I was then able to fully characterize both physico-chemically and in vitro by myself. I was amazed how it really worked and what awesome things one can do in a research lab.
