As a Bachelor’s student from a university of applied sciences (HBO), you can apply for admission to our Master’s programmes. In order to gain and/or improve the knowledge and skills needed to start a Master’s programme, it is often necessary to follow an additional pre-Master’s programme which you have to pass in order to gain admission to the Master’s programme.

Two transfer routes

Admission to a Master’s or pre-Master’s programme largely depends on your previous academic results and study programme. There are two routes for HBO students, depending on where you previously studied:

Admissible HBO degrees

Admission to the pre-Master’s programme depends on your Bachelor’s programme. Directly related to Nanotechnology are:

  • Elektrotechniek
  • Technische Natuurkunde
  • Chemische Technologie

If you have completed another HBO programme of which you are not sure if it’s sufficiently relevant, you can also apply for admission. In that case, the admission committee will conduct an individual assessment procedure to determine if you have sufficient basic qualifications in Nanotechnology to be admitted.

Pre-master's in a nutshell

The specific components of your pre-Master’s programme depend on your Bachelor's qualifications, the specialization you wish to pursue and your current level of knowledge.

Transfer minor

Students can complete the pre-Master's programme as a minor during their Bachelor’s programme ('Kies op Maat' programme), provided they obtain approval for this from the programme administrations of both their own institution and the University of Twente.

How to apply
