As the systems involved in smart products and capital equipment become more and more complex, an increasing number of engineers will be needed to provide the technical wherewithal to effectively support and guide these developments. Many Internet Science & Technology graduates therefore find jobs in industry: plenty of companies, big and small, need people with skills in this field, from telecom operators and equipment manufacturers, to security firms and companies that develop and offer new services online. A fair share of our graduates have gone on to start their own successful businesses. Telecommunication technology specialists are also in great demand in the academic world, particularly in research where they have the skills to both generate research results and find useful applications for them.
