Twente Graduate School

Twente Graduate School (TGS) offers high-quality educational programmes based on subjects closely related to the work of the university’s research institutes and taught and supervised by expert researchers from these same institutes. It offers an increasing variety of integrated Master’s and PhD programmes for outstanding graduate students who are keen to pursue a career in scientific research.

TGS programmes are set up in collaboration between the university’s faculties and research institutes. Next to the PhD research project leading to a dissertation, the broad selection of discipline related and elective courses enable students to specialize in a research area they are interested in while broadening their perspective on the societal context of technology and research. These aspects are integrated into the Twente Graduate School, which aims to give a kick-start to research talent.

Nano Devices and Systems

The Netherlands have invested strongly in nanotechnology, and we now start to harvest the results from this investment in terms of research volume and a world-wide leading position in this field.

Electrical Engineering

Nanotechnology

The two-year MSc programme in Nanotechnology focuses on the design, creation and study of functional materials, structures, devices and systems by directly controlling matter on the nanometre scale.

MESA+ School for Nanotechnology

MESA+ boasts a state-of-the-art NanoLab with a floor area of 1250 square metres. The fact that its users are offered a wide variety of technologies and equipment to develop an almost unlimited number of applications makes this NanoLab quite unique. MESA+ actively seeks collaboration with industry and encourages entrepreneurship among its employees. Though collaboration and a focus on interdisciplinary research, the excellent infrastructure and entrepreneurship, MESA+ is one of the world’s top institutes in the field of nano and microtechnology.

CTIT is one of the founding fathers of the Netherlands Institute for Research on ICT (3TU.NIRICT); this institute bundles the ICT research and innovation activities of the three Universities of Technology in the Netherlands. 3TU.NIRICT is core-member of EIT.ICT Labs. Aim of EIT.ICT Labs is to become a pan-European flagship uniting Education, Research and Innovation for the Future Information and Communication Society.
