As a bachelor’s student from a university of applied sciences (HBO), you can apply for admission to a master’s. In order to gain and/or improve your knowledge and skills needed to start a master’s, it is often necessary to follow a pre-master's. You have to complete the pre-master's successfully in order to gain admission to the master’s. Admission to a master’s or pre-master's largely depends on your previous academic results and study programme.
If you have a certificate from a related bachelor’s at a University of Applied Sciences (HBO), you may be considered for admission to the Pre-Master's in Business Information Technology. Applications are assessed on an individual basis. The programme is normally worth 30 credits and generally starts in September.
You qualify for admission if you satisfy the following conditions:
- You graduated from a related degree programme. Related programmes are: Bedrijfskundige Informatica, Technische Informatica, Informatica, Information Science, in some cases Business Administration or Industrial Engineering would also qualify;
- Positive assessment of your English-language letter of application (part of the application form);
- You have completed Mathematics B at pre-university level (Dutch VWO);
- Your grades are above average.
The admission committee will conduct an individual assessment procedure to determine if you have sufficient basic qualifications in Business Information Technology. If you have completed an HBO programme that is not listed among the related programmes, you can also apply for admission.
If you do not satisfy the requisite level in Mathematics, you may be able to take a course at your own HBO institution. Check the admission requirements for more options.
