Public Management Dialogues

Polarisation does not stop at the workplace

Public debate is becoming more polarised. Discussions about migration, climate change, international conflicts, vaccination policies and the role of government increasingly divide opinions. These tensions are not limited to politics and media. They also enter the workplace of public organisations.

Within governments and public institutions, colleagues often hold different views on societal issues and policy choices. This can lead to uncomfortable conversations, sharper conflicts and declining trust between teams and organisational levels.

During this dialogue we will explore how internal polarisation arises, how it manifests itself within organisations and how public professionals can deal with it constructively. Students, professionals, academics and others interested in the public domain are warmly invited to join the conversation.

The event brings together public sector professionals, public administration alumni, current students, scientists and teachers for a day of dialogue and reflection. Check out the Dutch website for more information.
