Understanding business challenges and applying IT as a tool to design innovative digital solutions.

How can companies today make the smartest use of the growing possibilities offered by digitisation, automation, big data, the Internet of Things, machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI) and other branches of IT? How do you prevent expensive automation projects from eventually failing, or how do you avoid a patchwork of systems and IT solutions that is more a hindrance than a help to employees? How do you ensure that new technologies increase business performance and offer optimum ease of use? How do you translate the many wishes and needs within a company into relevant, future-oriented IT solutions? If questions like these fascinate you, our Bachelor’s in Business Information Technology is the right choice for you.

Why study Business Information Technology?

Help companies become future-proof by combining business and computer science

This Bachelor’s will help you become a specialist in designing information systems for business purposes. That means you will learn to speak the languages of IT specialists and managers alike; only with an understanding of both business and computer science, you can solve complex automation problems and develop smarter processes. This is a unique and valuable position in today’s fast-changing, digital market, because with your knowledge about both fields, you can make connections others might miss. In every course you follow, you will integrate both perspectives – just as they are in today’s business world. After graduating, you will be able to translate leadership and business ambitions into system requirements and performance-enhancing IT architecture, which you can design and build yourself – with or without the involvement of developers. In short: with your unique profile of expertise, you will be ready to help businesses become more successful and future-proof!

Learn and apply AI

Understanding business challenges and tackling them with the power of computer science, that is at the heart of the Bachelor's in Business Information Technology. In this programme, you explore how AI and emerging technologies are transforming the way organisations work and innovate. You will apply data-driven decision-making, design AI-powered automation, and optimise business processes and IT strategies, always at the intersection of technology and organisational reality.

Throughout the programme, you will work on real-world projects that put these skills into practice. In the Business Innovation with Emerging Technologies module, for example, you will learn to apply Machine Learning, Process Mining, and AI-driven automation directly in business contexts, building and deploying intelligent systems that solve real organisational problems.

Get to the heart

In this programme, you will develop expertise in software development, data, AI, information systems and business innovation. From day one, you will apply your knowledge in realistic projects inspired by organisations such as ASML, Nedap, and Somtoday.

Working in project teams, you will analyse business challenges, design digital and AI-driven solutions, build prototypes, and advise organisations on how technology can create value. This hands-on approach gives you valuable experience long before you graduate.

Professionals who combine business insight with IT and AI expertise are in high demand, which is why many of our students secure internships, part-time jobs, and graduate positions at leading technology companies.
