The Education Day of 2015 was all about Student Engagement. Around 120 people visited (parts of) the day and it was a big success. The day started with lunch in the Foyer of the Waaier, were people chatted and looked at posters that were being presented.
The lunch was followed by the plenary opening of the day by the Dean of Educational Innovation, Ramses Wessel. After a short introduction, he gave the floor to the two key-note speakers: Erwin Hans (winner of the Central Education Award) and Sandra van Aalderen (works for ELAN and focusses her research on science education and talent development). Erwin Hans and Sandra van Aalderen gave very interesting key notes about efficiency and student and teacher engagement. The PowerPoint presentations are available online.
During the two workshop round visitors could choose from six different workshops. The workshops had different goasl, some were meant as inspirational examples, others gave a theoretical background to student engagement, and you could get practical tips or go in conversation with… The presentations of these workshops are available online.
As a tradition; we ended the day with drinks and snacks in the Foyer of the Waaier. Visitors looked back on a great day and so do we. Hopefully we will see you next year at Education Day 2016!
