What is ECIU University?

The European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) is an alliance where students, educators, and researchers unite with cities and businesses to work on real-world challenges. UT is one of the 12 institutions forming this consortium, meaning all UT students are ECIU University students, and therefore have access to learning opportunities across Europe.

Your responsibilities as an Ambassador: engage in online meetings with all other ECIU University Ambassadors across Europe, share experiences/best practices with others, collaborate with university staff and help build the ECIU University, a new model of European University education, and organising local ECIU University activities and represent the consortium at events like the Kick-In or Let’s GO Abroad Fair.

Take on the role that suits you

· Local community building event coordinator: you will be the one in charge of our local community building activities! Will we have (lunch) lectures, movie nights or will you come up with something entirely new together with your fellow student ambassadors? Of course you will organise things together, but you as coordinator make sure that everyone is doing their part and that the event will run smoothly.

· Social media coordinator: have you already seen one of our take-overs or Insta snippets? As social media coordinator you think about our ECIU @ UT social media presence. What can we do to be (more) visible? You can also become our new ECIU @ UT face, or your job is to find someone for the content that you come up with together with the rest of the ECIU Student Ambassadors.

· Campus event coordinator: a lot of events are already happening on campus. Your job is to spot where we need to be. Kick-In market? Let’s Go Abroad Fair? No event stays a secret to you, and you will also make sure we have enough people (students, but maybe even staff as well) to be present with our own stand.

· Association coordinator: you are the one who is in contact with the study/student associations and organisations at UT. You find ways to collaborate with them, for example maybe by organising joint events, or using their networks to reach more students about the ECIU University offer.

· ECIU Student Ambassador coordinator: yes, indeed: the coordinator of all the above-mentioned people. You make sure that meetings are planned and that all the plans will actually happen. You motivate your teammates, and are the main contact person for the local Community Coordinator.

All the roles can be taken on by 1 or 2 people, so you can share responsibilities and have a partner in crime. For all roles you will spend an average of 4 hours a week, which you can distribute very flexibly to fit your schedule.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

Everything that’s mentioned in the first few sentences. But let’s zoom in on the first part: 2 exclusive Ambassador travel possibilities. In February the ECIU Student Ambassador training days will take place. We can send 2 Student Ambassadors from UT to go there, and you will get travel funding to cover your travel and accommodation costs.

In June the annual ECIU University Forum will take place. We can send 2 Student Ambassadors there too, for two days filled with interesting sessions and networking opportunities.

APPLICATION DETAILS:

Submit a short application, you are free to do this in any form you want. For example: a short video (maximum 1.5 minutes), a short motivation letter (maximum half A4), or a poster, Powerpoint, or anything else you can use to introduce yourself. Please include at least your name, year of study and study programme. Tell us about your motivation to become an ECIU ambassador, your passions, and interests. Please indicate which role would have your preference. Convince us why you are one of the next ambassadors!

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

Two ECIU Staff members and one of the current ECIU Student Ambassadors will be the selection committee. There will be one round of interviews, after which the committee will decide who will become the new Student Ambassadors and which roles they will get.
