Three working groups of ECIU University - of wich UT is a partner - met last week for a workshop at the University of Stavanger in the Norwegian city of the same name. The goal was to collaborate across work packages on the alumni challenge: how to maintain strong connections with former students.
More than 40 ECIU colleagues shared input on the main obstacles regarding alumni, as well as the opportunities. Post-it notes included terms such as 'valuable for the network', but also 'difficult to reach', 'more working, then learning'.
ECIU University aims to retain its alumni to support lifelong learning, innovation, and collaboration. By staying connected, graduates can continue developing new skills through flexible learning opportunities. Alumni also strengthen the university’s international network by linking students, researchers, and industry partners. Their professional experience helps keep education relevant and practice-oriented, as they can contribute real-world challenges and insights.
After the joint session, each work package continued working within its own domain, focusing on community and mobility, user experience, and marketing and communication.
