Aneurysm reputre

Aneurysm rupture in the abdominal aorta is typically lethal. Based on current clinical guidelines, patients with an aneurysm wider than 5.5 cm are considered for elective repair. Such an elective procedure using open surgery or endovascular repair may avert rupture, but this treatment is not without risks and may in some cases be unnecessary. The researchers will use artificial intelligence (AI) to model aneurysm progression in individual patients and improve the efficiency of aneurysm patient management. For this, they will develop advanced AI algorithms to extract a wide array of aneurysm characteristics from routinely acquired medical images like MRI, CT, and ultrasound.
