Promising talent Thijs Peeters rider for Electric Superbike Twente

Peeters is one of the top Dutch riders in the OWCup and rides on many racetracks at home and abroad. He competes for victory in the NK SuperCup 600 and has picked up podium places on several occasions in Oschersleben. He races at one of the highest amateur levels, is 21 years old and is a student at the Saxion University of Applied Sciences. Thijs Peeters has been appointed as the one and only rider for Electric Superbike Twente.

Peeters is highly motivated to race electrically this summer for Electric Superbike Twente. “The students are working on a great project, fully designing and building a bike in no more than six months! I am looking forward to having the opportunity to ride the bike they have developed this summer. Fortunately, I can combine it nicely with the competitions in which I participate. A new challenge with hopefully many wonderful results. I am aiming for the sky, of course!”, Thijs Peeters concludes.

In addition to the races, Peeters is also involved in the test phase of Electric Superbike Twente. In this phase, the team tries to optimally adjust the motorcycle to Peeters’s requirements. “It is a totally new and special experience for me and completely different from what I am used to. I expect that racing will gradually evolve into a sport with high-performance electric vehicles.”

Team manager Tim Veldhuis is very happy with Peeters’s choice. ‘I am proud he will be riding the MotoE competition races on our fully electric Twente race bike. We have found a good one in Thijs; he is a promising talent!’
