Background & Description
The Province of Overijssel is developing a long-term energy vision for the year 2050, addressing resources, electricity supply, and green energy. To support this complex planning process, the province turned to DesignLab to help facilitate meaningful dialogue with stakeholders, including residents, companies, and organizations.
DesignLab’s DreamTeam was tasked with creating a tool that would support these discussions, simplifying the context while inspiring new ideas. The tool needed to be engaging, accessible, and useful for people with varying levels of expertise in energy topics.
Using the Responsible Futuring approach, the team prototyped and iterated the tool in close collaboration with the province. The result was a playful and functional discussion aid that empowered participants to engage meaningfully in the future of regional energy planning.
