Citizen Science Conference Let's go together

On 20 November 2020, the University of Twente's Citizen Science conference is taking place. With the theme ‘Let’s go together: Shaping Citizen Science in the Netherlands’, it is our ambition to join forces with all those that are interested or involved in Citizen Science: be it students, researchers or citizens, from the Twente region, from other parts of the Netherlands and also abroad.

Sharing knowledge, linking networks

We invite students, researchers and employees to come to the online Strategic Expert Group Kick-Off, from 11 to 12 A.M. Starting 1 P.M., everyone in and outside UT is welcome to take part in the second half of this programme, when keynote speakers will talk about the challenges and impact regarding Citizen Science. There will be a live poll to interact with the audience. The afternoon programme is hosted by DesignLab. Key to this day is sharing knowledge and best practices, as well as strengthening and mapping the Citizen Science movement regionally, nationally and internationally. We will also seize this opportunity to launch the university’s brand new Citizen Science Hub.

Launching the Citizen Science Hub

The University of Twente embraces Open Science, and Citizen Science as an important part of it. In doing so, we link to a growing movement in academia, where Citizens Science is gaining ground. An important part of UT's strategy is to build a Citizen Science Hub, to connect our knowledge and research community with the rest of the world. DesignLab functions as a sandbox environment for this, promoting interaction between researchers, students and end-users.
