Tosti Talks: Extinction Rebellion

Guest speaker: Lennart from sUsTain, student association at University of Twente promoting sustainability

Climate change: everyone talks about it, but few agree on the underlying principles. This topic causes disagreement between friends and family, but also in the government: from parties that don’t acknowledge climate change to endless discussions about “the budget” and how much should be allocated towards becoming more sustainable.

During the talk, Lennart from the UT’s sustainability association sUsTain will address the underlying principles of climate science and the philosophy behind the movement “Extinction Rebellion”.

Extinction Rebellion is a socio-political movement intending to utilise nonviolent resistance in order to avert climate breakdown, halt biodiversity loss, and minimise the risk of human extinction and ecological collapse.

Should the government reduce carbon emissions to net zero by 2025? How should citizens be involved? Join the discussion on the 9th of April!
