Documenting creation process of exciting new products is great way to present the life cycle from birth to a maturity. Do you need to wait till the marketing takes over to have good quality pictures of your product? Not necessary, by building inexpensive light-box you can increase the quality of the pictures done with any camera and your prototypes can shine in best of light.
Light-boxes and light tends are used by professional photographers to create high-quality product images. Different types of semi-transparent material are used to diffuse the light and make it spread evenly on the objects on the scene.

There are many quick solutions if you are in hurry such as thick paper or carton box. However, you might want to build more permanent solution. For that purpose we are building a laser cut version of the box, which can be used for photography setups or used parts of it for quickly defusing light.
You will need 5 sides for the box, 3 of which have an opening for the light and 2 solid for the bottom and the back. Add sheets of paper to achieve the desire effect. Use two to three light sources.
Post production
Defusing was just the beginning of showing your projects in new light. Another advantage is that by defusing the light we manage to make smooth background, which can be easily cut out. Now you can put your project in a context.
