New scam email shows old password

Several employees have received a new type of scam email during the last few days.

In the subject of the mail is reported that the scammer has the password of the recipient and thus has broken into the computer of the victim. The mail itself contains the old claim that there are recordings of the victim while watching porn websites.

This information is fake!
It is possible that the password is known to you. In that case the password comes from a list of passwords and e-mail addresses that have become public by a hack at organizations such as Adobe and LinkedIn. It is easy to check whether your address(es) have been captured in such a hack. The website ¨Have I been pwnd¨ keeps track of all those hacks. Information can be requested by the legitimate owner of the e-mail address.
