Computer Science student Sebastian Panman de Wit wins Joop Bautz Information Security Award

The Joop Bautz Information Security Award is rewarded to the person that delivered the most promising and recent contribution related to Information Security. This person should be studying at a recognized University of Applied Sciences or (research) University located in the Netherlands, or this person is Dutch and studies at a recognized international University of Applied Sciences or (research) University.

On October 10th, at the Security-Congres in the Johan Cruijf Arena, the nominated students presented their work to the audience. Two of the three nominated students, Thijs van Ede and Sebastian Panman de Wit, are graduates at the University of Twente. With his work on Dynamic detection of mobile malware using real-life data and machine learning, Sebastian Panman de Wit received this year’s Joop Bautz Information Security Award.
