On the 25th of April, a group of students from Leiden University College The Hague will be performing a big musical, CORPORATE, in the Zuiderstrandtheater, and they would like to invite the students of the University of Twente to come and watch!
CORPORATE tells the story of an agricultural company that monopolizes the bio industry and produces genetically modified crops and other agricultural products. On the one hand the biotechnological techniques that are used are seen as the solution to the world food problem. On the other hand, the company’s techniques have many negative impacts on the earth and its inhabitants.
CORPORATE challenges the spectator to think about important contemporary issues such as sustainability, the world food problem, economics, business, and more. The musical follows a farmer in his struggle with what sustainable and good farming for the future looks like. The musical is completely written and directed by our own students, also the music is composed by our own students. It will be a mix of humor and serious topics, with of course like every good musical, a developing love story.
