Invitation new cultural season Exhibitions, performances and cultural education

We're gearing up for a new season of Culture with a capital C at Vrijhof.
Exclusive exhibitions, inspiring performances and a brand-new offer of cultural education for students and staff alike.

Join us in kicking off this new cultural season!

Shows
We're off to an early start! The first week of the new academic year, on Thursday 6 September to be precise, we start with the on-site performance ‘Hellend Vlak’ (‘Sliding Slope’) by dance company Vloeistof, at the pond facing Vrijhof. Start time: 7.30 pm. This show focuses on rising water levels and how we are - quite literally - up to our necks in water due to global warming. A dance performance where Language is No Problem!

Less than a week later, Theatre Hotel Courage is treating us to musical mask theatre based on the stories of UT students at the Open-air theatre. Then we move on to flamenco, cabaret and much more!

Special offer for early birds! Benefit from a discount of 1 euro per ticket on all shows this upcoming season with our special discount code when booking one (or more) theatre ticket(s) online.  This promotion is valid up until 6 September with the following discount code: EarlyBird1819. Good to know: we have switched to a new online ticketing system!

Exhibitions
We kick off the season on Thursday 6 September at 4.30 pm with the exhibition ‘The silence after the mortars’ in the small exhibition hall. This is a photo exhibition about Aleppo by Simone Gerard. On Saturday 8 September at 1 pm we are inaugurating the exhibition ‘Human Touch, Graffiti & Street Art’ in the large exhibition hall at Vrijhof. This exhibition brings several graffiti artists, each with their own approach, indoors to showcase their works. Subsequently, Concordia is inaugurating the exhibition ‘Annex’, featuring works of former graffiti artists AKAY, Delta and Erosie.

Moreover, we are soon opening the new location set to host the ‘Paul Citroen’ collection. Part of the university's art collection, which was displayed at the university library until recently, will now be permanently moved to the ground floor at Vrijhof.

Cultural education
We have uploaded our course offer for the first semester. The labour union at the UT and the Student Union have enabled us to once again offer a varied range of courses. Get ready to discover new cultural disciplines or further immerse yourself in your creative passion. We are partnering with AKI, Kaliber Kunstenschool and Volksuniversiteit Enschede to offer you an even more extensive programme. You can take part in a range of courses at an affordable price, such as design your own wooden furniture/object, creative welding, laughter yoga, cajón, Arabic cooking, Pitch-This and much more.

Have a look at our website to discover the full offer.

See you soon!
