Piazzolla versus Salgán LocosLindos Tango Quintet

The LocosLindos Tango Quintet; five young and driven musicians entering and exploring the unknown musical landscapes of the passionate Argentinean Tango.

Argentinean Tango came into existence more than 100 years ago in brothels of the suburbs of Buenos Aires and grew out to be a musical tradition with a world-wide fan base. The fact that tango is alive and kicking is clear: new music is written by young and driven musicians and composers alike.

Tango has many different musical movements. Next to the traditional, danceable tango’s LocosLindos also plays the well-known repertoire of famous bandoneon player and composer Astor Piazzolla, but also the more unknown repertoire of modern-day tango composers. This way the quintet developed their own recognizable style and connection with the music.

The members of LocosLindos come from Russia, Belgium and the Netherlands. They met each other during their studies at the Rotterdam conservatory. All of them graduated from the World Music department, specializing in Argentinean Tango. Their shared passion for this unique and exotic music style is the theme for their intimate musical connection. A young and fresh way of looking at Tango, which may surprise from time to time, creating the illusion that you are in the warm and fiery continent of South-America.
