In this show the StarkLinnemann Quartet is exploring the possibilities of transforming the music of Polish Romantic composer and piano virtuoso Frédéric Chopin into jazz, world music and even rock!
Two of Chopin’s major sonatas, the piano sonata opus 58 and the cello sonata opus 65 are the starting points of long, intriguing and exciting modern jazz compositions mixed with passionate improvisations. StarkLinnemann treats the material of these sonatas in a very original way with catchy grooves and striking harmonies. Though you will be listening to 21st century music in all its colors, the essence of Chopin’s music will always be respected.
