In this presentation we combined the already existing exhibition Women in Mathematics, previously shown in the University Library, with artworks from the university art library that have a mathematical theme.
The thirteen female mathematicians portrayed in the exhibition Woman in Mathematics share with us their experience, thus serving as role models to stimulate young women scientists to trust their own strength. In presenting mathematics through women mathematicians’ perspectives and samples of their life stories, the hope lives to highlight the human aspects of producing mathematics, making this discipline more tangible and therefore more accessible to outsiders or newcomers.
