Result
In this course, participants will extend their basic knowledge of Dutch, going from CEF-level A2 to A2/B1. Participants receive a certificate after 80% attendance and if the course portfolio is evaluated positively.
Content
This intensive course is an introduction to Dutch language. It covers reading, listening, writing and speaking. Participants will also learn more about Dutch culture and society and an excursion to the Rijksmuseum Twenthe.
Translated in terms of the Common European Framework for modern foreign languages (CEF), this means that at the end of this course, participants:
- understand key points from clear standard texts on familiar matters regularly encountered at work, school and leisure,
- cope with most situations that may arise when traveling in areas where Dutch is spoken,
- produce a simple running text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest,
- describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and can briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
Duration and Time investment
- 35 hrs. of lessons (10 days in two weeks)
- Participants are expected to invest approximately 4 hrs. per lesson day on self-study
Admission criteria
Admission is granted based on certificates obtained from earlier language courses, in this case, Dutch A2, or an intake exam, which you can register for here.
