Veni Masterclass

WHAT'S IT ABOUT

The Veni training provides participants with the necessary knowledge needed to develop a competitive pre-proposal and full proposal for the NWO Talent Programme Veni.

During the masterclass, applicants will be introduced to the Veni procedure, analyse each section of the application template and meet former assessment committee members. Applicants will receive support throughout the development of their pre-proposal and full proposal, as well as preparation for the interview.

The sessions run from May 2026 to April 2027 and support the entire application process.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

The course is designed for researchers at the University of Twente with an embedding guarantee, who have a competitive CV and an innovative research idea.

We strongly advise you to register for the training programme if you intend to apply for the 2026 round.

If you do not yet plan to apply in 2026 but want to know more about the Veni, please contact SBD-Grants Office (grants-office@utwente.nl) for the recording of the Veni info session and to make an appointment to discuss CV preparation.

  • Programme is for

    Researchers from the University of Twente with an embedding guarantee who have competitive CV and an innovative research idea.

  • Date

    Part 1 - Pre-proposal training:

    1. Template analysis (Narrative, Key Output, Research idea): 13 May 2026 (9.00-12.30, on Campus)

    2. Meet the committee: to be announced

    3. Visiting hours to read pre-proposals and Q&A: to be announced

    Part 2 - Full Proposal and Interview training (for applicants who are invited to submit a full proposal):

    • Veni proposal writing : to be announced (in November)

    • Interview training: to be announced  (March-April 2027)

  • Location

    Invitations will be sent with details of the location (at UT campus).

  • Course fee

    This training will be paid from central funds.

  • Trainers

    The sessions will be led by Grants Advisors from the SBD-Grants Office and external consultants.

  • Course materials

    Course materials will be provided during and after the training.

  • Requirements

    * Participants must be eligible to apply for an NWO Veni grant and receive an embedding guarantee from their respective faculty.

    * Active participation in the training programme is required in order to receive full support, including application reviews.
