RESULT
In this course you extend your basic knowledge of Mandarin Chines, CEF-level A2. After this training you have learned enough Mandarin Chinese to have a friendly conversation with colleagues, to ask directions, and travel and study in China. Afterwards there is a possibility to register for the HSK exams, organised by the Confucius Institute in Groningen and Leiden. The HSK exam is an international test that measures the level of knowledge of the Chinese language.
CONTENT
This course facilitates your relations with Chinese people, prepares your stay at a university in China, or is just for fun and interesting.
The practicing of skills is embedded in relevant everyday situations and events with focus on issues like housing, study, travel and work in China.
For this course, a modern learning method with an emphasis on spoken Mandarin Chinese will be used.
The extension of communicative competences is the central learning objective of this course. Learning from and with each other is essential. Pair and group work therefore play an important role.
DURATION AND TIME INVESTMENT
The course consists of 12 lessons of two hours each, with one session per week. Attendance at every lesson is essential. Homework is expected to take approximately two hours per lesson.
