The Twente Graduate School (TGS) offers an Introductory programme consisting of a two day PhD Workshop including a mandatory Scientific Integrity programme and a related assignment. The Introductory programme is aimed at recently started PhD candidates and is a must for all UT doctoral candidates.
In the two-day workshop we hope to convey to you, among others, what you can expect from TGS, and what the requirements are for you as a PhD candidate at the UT. Topics are:
- scientific integrity programme
- how to manage your PhD
- discover your training needs
- make stress your friend
- some info pitches
- life after PhD
- and much more
This two day Introductory PhD Workshop is free of charge (lunches and drinks are provided) and applies to all categories of new doctoral candidates (AIOs, scholarship holders, contract and external PhD candidates as well as PDEng candidates), and irrespective of your registration / participation in a specific TGS programme.
After participation in the two day programme, a TGS Certificate (0.5 EC) will be handed over to you for your active participation.
A subsequent TGS Certificate of 1.0 EC credits will be handed out at the comeback session (2 or 3 months after the PhD Introductory Course) after completing the Scientific Integrity assignment session.
Please note that participation in this introductory workshop in the beginning of your doctoral phase is required.

1st day from 8:45 h. – 16:00 h.
2nd day from 9.00 - 14.30 h.
