Smooth transfer / Master Before Bachelor (Zachte knip) For UT Students 2022-2023
General rules for this arrangement
- The UT can legally only soften the Bachelor before master rule for students with a delay due to COVID-19-related reasons. Students with a delay only due to other reasons have to finish their Bachelor before they can start with their Master.
- Bachelor students can only in individual cases be conditionally admitted to the Master's programme if a maximum of 30 EC of the Bachelor’s programme is still open and using the smooth transfer is neccesary in order to avoid (significant) study delay.
- Pre-master students can only in individual cases be conditionally admitted to the Master's programme if a maximum of 6 EC of the Pre-master programme is still open.
- The Bachelor's programme/ pre-master programme must be completed before 1 September 2023. Students who did not graduate from their Bachelor’s programme or completed their Premaster's before this date must stop following Master courses. With their application, students need to provide a realistic study plan, which will influence the decision.
- The Bachelor's programme/ pre-master programme must be completed before the Master’s thesis is started.
- Students who want to use this arrangement can only start with the Master per September 2022 or February 2023.
PROCEDURE UT students
Fill out the following form (1) and send it together with a study plan (2) and study progress overview from Osiris (3) to m.vangrinsven@utwente.nl with a cc to studyadviser-tcs@utwente.nl as soon as possible but no later than 15 August 2022.

Please pay special attention to the Covid related issues as part of your motivation. If neccesary consult with a study advisor or the Master coordinator. As written above, we are only allowed to approve delays linked to Covid. - Study plan (template, though you are allowed to use your own)

After receiving the form, we will discuss within the programme if you qualify for the smooth transfer (especially wrt Covid related reasons) .If you are eligible gor the smooth transfer for CS we will inform you and Student Services and archieve the decision and corresponding application as part of your student file.
