Inspire others with your sustainability initiative
Sustainability Week, October 12–16, 2026 – Join us!
The University of Twente strives to become a sustainable organization. It is our mission to respond to societal needs by developing sustainable, proactive measures to support our planet and the people who live on it. In the week of October, we will be paying extra attention to sustainability. During Sustainability Week, we bring together inspiring initiatives from our community and show what is already happening – and what more is possible.
Do you have an idea? Organize an activity!
We invite students, staff, and partner organizations to organize events and help create a diverse and inspiring program. Whether you want to host a hands-on workshop, lecture, excursion, panel discussion, film screening, outdoor activity, or online session: your initiative is welcome.
Big or small, creative or practical — if it connects to sustainability, it fits within Sustainability Week.
This year, several activities are already planned, including:
- a plant cutting swap market
- a sewing and repair café
- a sustainability walk
- and a clothing swap
Your contribution makes the difference
Organise your event on campus or online, during the day or in the evening, for students, staff or a mixed audience. Ideally, your event should align with one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, such as Climate Action, Responsible Consumption and Production, or Good Health and Well-being. An important benchmark for the UT’s sustainability policy.
We support you every step of the way
You won’t be doing this alone: we will help promote your event through our communication channels and support you in reaching a broad audience. You may also be eligible for financial support through the Sustainability Fund.
Submit your idea today via the form above or contact us.
We are happy to think along with you and support you in further developing your plans. Together, we will create an inspiring and impactful Sustainability Week!
