Sustainability Week will take place from 12 until 16 October 2026. This is an opportunity to showcase and celebrate everything that our university community does, and we are looking for students, staff, and organizations to help make it inspiring and impactful contributions.
If you would like to run an event or activity that puts sustainability at its core, we’d love to hear from you, whether you’re applying as an individual or as part of a team. We are open to all kinds of formats, so get creative!
Express your interest by sending an email to events-greenhubtwente@utwente.nl.

We are looking for individuals or teams who would like to run an event this year. Examples include practical events such as workshops or outdoor experiences, a lecture or informal talk, webinars, panel discussions, site tour, social media takeovers, film screenings, etc.
Events can be online or in-person, anywhere suitable on campus, for staff, students, or both, and can take place during the daytime or evening. It's very flexible!
Your event should ideally be themed around one or more of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which we most closely align to in the Sustainability Plan: Quality Education, Climate Action, Sustainable Cities & Communities, Responsible Consumption & Production, Good Health & Well-being etc.
We will help to promote your event and support you in getting people to attend. You may be eligible for funding from the Sustainability Fund to support your event, so please check that link and the dates for applying.
Let us know your ideas in the form below, and we will be in touch to discuss them with you.
Any questions? Please email: events-greenhubtwente@utwente.nl.
Thank you for your enthusiasm!

Sustainability Week will take place from 12 to 16 October 2026.
During this week, we highlight and celebrate sustainability initiatives across our university community. We invite students, staff, and partner organizations to contribute ideas and help shape a diverse and engaging programme. We are looking for people who would like to organize an event or activity that connects to sustainability. This can take many forms: from hands-on workshops and outdoor activities to lectures, panel discussions, site visits, film screenings, or online sessions. Both small-scale and larger initiatives are welcome, and we encourage creative approaches.
Events can be organised on campus or online, during the day or in the evening, and can target students, staff, or a mixed audience.
Preferably, activities relate to one or more of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, such as Climate Action, Responsible Consumption & Production, Sustainable Cities & Communities, Good Health & Well-being, or Quality Education.
We support organisers by promoting events through our communication channels and helping to reach a wide audience. In some cases, financial support may be available through the Sustainability Fund (https://su.utwente.nl/en/get-involved/sustainability/sustainability-fund/)
If you are interested in contributing, please share your idea with us via the form or contact us at events-greenhubtwente@utwente.nl. We are happy to think along with you and support you in developing your plans.
We look forward to your ideas and to creating an inspiring Sustainability Week together.
