On the 9th of February CHOIR hosted a seminar on resident (AIOS) and physician scheduling. Annebet van der Meulen (UMCG) and Ramon van den Berg (FMS) presented on the practical issues of the declining number of residents in Dutch hospitals. On behalf of CHOIR, Maartje van de Vrugt and Nicky Schuermans presented mathematical methods to produce optimal schedules to cope with this trend. Judging from the response of the participants, the presented problems and solutions are highly relevant for daily practice. More information and the presentations can be found here (in dutch)
