We warmly invite you to the symposium celebrating the 20th anniversary of CHOIR. On November 7 (9:15–18:00, including lunch, snacks, and drinks), the symposium will take place in the TechMed building of the University of Twente, with the theme:
“Future-Proofing Healthcare Through 20 Years of Research, Education and Impact.”

In the morning, the founders Richard Boucherie and Erwin Hans will look back on the past 20 years. The first three CHOIR PhD graduates, Peter Vanberkel, Nikky Kortbeek, and Maartje Zonderland, will reflect on their time at CHOIR and on how they have applied the knowledge they gained since then. Peter Vanberkel is now a professor and vice-dean at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada, while Nikky and Maartje work as entrepreneurs / consultants, actively implementing healthcare logistics concepts and making much impact.
In the afternoon, we will turn to the present and future of CHOIR. The research is expanding from hospitals to nearly all types of healthcare organizations. Inspiring speakers, such as Mark van Houdenhoven (Treant), will present the major challenges we are facing. There will be plenty of room for discussion and networking during the coffee/tea breaks, lunch, and the closing reception. More information about the detailed program will follow soon.
