FoodCity Appèl Food Concepts to rotate as of 7 January Thursday 10 January 12.15-13.00: get a taste of concepts

On Monday 7 January, the currently rotating food concepts in the canteens will be replaced with new ones. Preparations are to take place in the week of 2 January. We invite you to discover the new concepts on Thursday 10 January, between 12.15 and 13.00, during a tasting session in the terrace area of the Waaier.

Appèl has been providing the catering in the University of Twente’s various canteens, and the banqueting since July 2018. Most buildings have a standard range of products: the food concepts The Bakery, Coffee & Co, Greens and Stock ‘n’ Broth. There are also food concepts that change every few months. Some concepts will return at a different location, others are, sometimes temporarily, removed from the range. New food concepts are also being introduced. The first rotation will take place on 7 January 2019.

The new layout

Would you like to know which new concepts are arriving where? In Spiegel, you will be able to enjoy the concept Break a l'egg from 7 January. If you can’t get enough of the Happy Asia concept, as featured earlier in Spiegel, join us at Waaier, where we are also launching the Hieper de Pieper (Tasty Taters) concept. Horst will feature the Croquettes concept, as well as the Get Toasted and Bliss Bowls concepts.

Get a taste of the concepts: Thursday 10 January, 12.15-13.00

On Thursday 10 January, from 12.15 to 13.00, you can come and try our new concepts in the terrace area of the Waaier! Please take the opportunity to taste all manner of small dishes from the new concepts.

Golden Ticket promotion

In addition to the tasting session on Thursday 10 January, we also invite you to participate in the UT Lunch Marathon. Get to know every concept, with a chance to win a Golden Ticket to boot! There are many fabulous prizes to win, such as a free lunch or product, or coffee with a treat. To participate:

  1. Take a picture of your lunch at each new rotating food concept.
  2. Participation: upload one or more pictures and mention the food concept or concepts, using the web form on, before 16 February 2019.
  3. Full participation: six uploaded pictures of different food concepts will give you the chance to win a Golden Ticket, uploaded before 16 February 2019! The first 25 employees have a chance at winning a Golden Ticket.
  4. Appèl will email the winners with an invitation to pick up their Golden Ticket.
