Discover the Campus

Get to know the countless opportunities for exploring the campus – both online and offline.

Exploring a campus that’s the size of around 200 football pitches is no easy feat, so it’s not surprising that it can take a while. Fortunately, there are plenty of opportunities to get to know the campus, both remotely and ‘in real life’.

Campus app

The Campus app guides you to your meeting, the parking spot closest to your appointment or any other outdoors point of interest. You can download the app for Android or IOS.

Art & architecture walk

The campus of the University of Twente was constructed during the 1960s in a park-like area between Enschede and Hengelo. It was an experiment: the Netherlands did not have another example of a campus university yet.

Since it was built more than 50 years ago, a lot has been changed and rebuilt at the University of Twente, although some of the original architectural or urban ideas have remained unaffected by the ravages of time.

The special campus walk we have mapped out for lovers of art and architecture allows you to find this out. Download the booklet in Dutch or English or collect a printed copy at the service desk of the Spiegel building.

Guided tours

Would you prefer to do a tour of the campus with a professional guide? We can arrange that. The costs for a guided tour are €70 per hour. The maximum group size is 25 persons per guide. A campus tour takes about 1 to 1,5 hours. Larger groups require more guides.

Books about the campus

Several books have been published about the campus during the past few years. They have been issued upon the completion of the real estate masterplan in 2011 and for the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the campus. You can view or read the books below digitally.
