For UT & ITC PhD-candidates, employees (and their partners), who have completed the Follow Up 4 course or a similar course, and whose current level of Dutch is CEF-level B2/C1
Provide participants with the opportunity to raise their overall Dutch proficiency to CEF-level C1/C2.Participants learn to understand with ease virtually everything they hear and read, make accurate and complete notes during a presentation, understand colloquial asides, talk about complex and sensitive issues without awkwardness and express themselves precisely and fluently.
- Intensive training in professional communication in Dutch (writing emails and reports, conducting meetings and discussions, presenting a thesis);
- interactive classes;
- particular focus on vocabulary, idioms and structures (Dutch in use);
- extensive use of authentic materials;
DURATION AND TIME INVESTMENT
Attendance at every lesson is essential. The course consists of 16 contact hours, 8 weekly sessions of two hours. Homework is expected to take approximately two hours per lesson. The study load for this course is roughly equivalent to 1 ECTS.
Admission takes place after the teacher has assessed the candidate on the basis of an intake interview or certificates obtained from earlier language courses.
