Following an online course gives you the opportunity to professionalize on a specific subject, not depending of time and space. On this page you will find several external Online Courses (MOOCs) that might be interesting for teaching staff at the University of Twente. When you complete an online course, you can buy a certificate. Add this also use to your UTQ dossier.

Future Learn (University of Twente Partner)

FutureLearn offers a diverse selection of (free) courses from leading universities and cultural institutions from around the world. These are delivered one step at a time, and are accessible on mobile, tablet and desktop. Future Learn offers a specific selection of courses in the category 'teaching' - 'higher education'


EdX is an open-source platform and is freely available. With Open edX, educators and technologists can build learning tools and contribute new features to the platform, creating innovative solutions to benefit students everywhere. EdX is founded by and continue to be governed by colleges and universities and are the only leading MOOC provider that is both nonprofit and open source. They offer a broad range of courses in the category 'Education & Teacher Training'.


Coursera provides universal access to several (paid) online courses, partnering with top universities and organizations.Every course on Coursera is taught by top instructors from the world’s best universities and educational institutions. When you complete a course, you’ll receive a sharable electronic Course Certificate. Coursera also offers specialisations and online degrees. In the category 'Social sciences' - 'Education' you find all education related courses. 

Use the categories or search engines to search for courses on the topic of your interest. No specific idea? Use general words like 'teaching', 'learning' or ' instruction' in the search engine and specify on topic.
