The University of Twente can only assist in finding accommodation for the maximum duration of one year.
When you sign a rental contract, you are bound to the terms of the contract, and you agree with the rights and obligations stated in it. The minimum period for renting accommodation through the University of Twente is one month. The maximum period is one year. You can terminate a contract with taken 1 month notice. The starting date of a contract is always on the 1st or 16th day of the month and the ending date is always on the 15th or last day of the month. Housing providers may charge administrative costs for new contracts.
International students applying for furnished accommodation for a period of six months or less (e.g. exchange students and visiting scholars) will be offered a Short Stay contract of 1 to 6 months. International students applying for furnished accommodation for a period of six months or more (e.g. Master students, PhD students, and Bachelor students) will be offered a contract of six months or more with a maximum of twelve months.
Please note: after you reject a third offer, the UT has complied with it’s obligations and can no longer guarantee you accommodation. You will no longer be granted access to the furnished “Special Offer UT” accommodations in Roomspot, but will still be able to access the unfurnished accommodations.
