Klaas Stek (1967) is a researcher in Business Administration at the University of Twente on the subject of purchasing and supply management (P/SM). He graduated in 1991 (Teacher Training Economic Sciences & Law, NHL University of Applied Sciences, Groningen), in 1993 (Economic Systems & History, University of Groningen) and in 2016 (Business Administration [P/SM], University of Twente). He graduated on his thesis Purchasing skills: Comparing Dutch and Austrian industrial job advertisements with the help of KODE®X.
After graduation at the institutes in Groningen Klaas worked as a teacher in economic sciences secondary schools (Havo) and pre-university education (VWO). From 1998 till 2005 Klaas was appointed by ING-Postbank as a paralegal responsible for a portfolio in complaints and disputes, representing the bank at the adjudication committees concerning banking, mortgages, securities and credit references (Geschillencommissies Bankzaken, Hypotheken, DSI/Effecten en BKR). Later Klaas was co-founder and chef de bureau of the internal ING law firm. After this banking intermezzo he turned back to education as a lecturer and final thesis supervisor at a university of applied sciences (management, economics and law). Since September 2016 he is PhD Researcher at UTwente.
