Call for abstracts for presentations and posters: procedure and deadline

Submission closed

The organising committee now invites submissions of abstracts for presentations and posters engaging with the theme of ‘Knowledge and Technology in Times of Global Shifts’ (details on the theme can be found here). This is not an exclusive focus. We welcome submissions as well related to other topics covering the wide range of science and technology studies, from different societal domains and technology fields, such as health, energy, agriculture, art, knowledge dynamics, nature-society relations, innovation processes, governance, futures and anticipation, finance, and many more.

Please consult the list of tracks and consider to which of the tracks your suggested presentation fits best. In the submission form you will also be able to indicate another track to which your contribution relates. If you think it does not fit any of the tracks, you are welcome to submit to the open track which will be curated by the conference organizers.

The submission system will open December 9, 2025, on the conference website https://www.utwente.nl/en/bms/sts-nl2026/submission/. Deadline is January 7, 2026.

  • Proposals for presentations and posters should contain title, authors’ details and an abstract of 200-300 words length. The abstract should include information on the topic, research question and methods. If you want to suggest a format that deviates from a common presentation, please explain this in your abstract.
  • Authors are expected to present no more than one submission at the conference, although an author may make more than one submission as co-author.
  • Abstracts will be evaluated through a review process by track organizers and members of the conference’s organising committee. Notification of acceptance/rejection is expected for end of January 2026.
  • Inclusion in the programme is dependent on the presenting author registering for the conference on a to be defined date.

If you need technical support with proposal submission, please contact the EasyChair support (help menu). For other questions, please contact sts-nl2026@utwente.nl
