ESA-ARTES Socio-Economic Impact Assessment

In the framework of a Technopolis evaluation exercise, this project aims at developing further understanding of the socio-economic impacts of the European Space Agency’s Programme targeted at supporting the development of telecommunications systems in Europe and Canada, with an emphasis on satcom products and services. In this framework, five case studies were identified, which includes the assessment of impacts on efficiency and productivity; on daily activities and mission of NGOs operating in remote locations; anticipation, on response, mitigation and/or relief of natural or man-made disasters; on GDP growth in Africa; and on news gathering in remote/dangerous/sensitive locations.http://www.utwente.nl/mb/steps/people/scientific/hoppe/Hoppe/Hoppe-1.jpg
