Horizon Event 2026 - Learning and Research for Societal Transformation

Colleagues working on topics linked to the BMS theme Learning and Research for Societal Transformation are warmly invited to join the Horizon Event 2026. The event offers a space to explore how these topics can be further developed into future collaborative project proposals within the context of Horizon Europe.

Organised within the BMS research theme Learning and Research for Societal Transformation, the event is intended for colleagues whose work connects to questions of:

  • traditional, new and emerging forms of learning
  • citizen science, artistic research, and societal impact
  • social inequality and diversity
  • sustainability and climate change
  • digitalisation and AI
  • and other topics related to supporting people and social actors in responding to societal transformation

Date: 9 April 2026
Time: 12:30–13:30
Location: Room RA-4231

The event aims to:

  • inform colleagues about Horizon Europe funding opportunities
  • provide insight into what a Horizon project looks like in practice
  • share information about the support available for grant-writing at UT and BMS
  • discuss how to build a strong European consortium

The event also offers an opportunity to connect with colleagues with similar interests and to explore collaboration across sections and disciplines.

There are two ways to participate:

1. Join the community

Come and join the community, meet colleagues beyond your own section, and discuss opportunities for collaboration.

2. Bring your project idea

Do you already have an idea for a Horizon call you would like to work on and are you looking for colleagues to join your endeavour? Please let us know and bring a short pitch with you in the form of a poster or a handwritten A1 sheet (flipchart format).

This event is intended as a kick-off meeting. Follow-up sessions will be organised for colleagues who would like to collaborate on a proposal.
