There has been an important update in the European Research Council (ERC) eligibility rules that may open new opportunities for researchers within BMS.
- The ERC Starting Grant eligibility window has been extended from 7 to 10 years after completion of the PhD.
- The ERC Consolidator Grant eligibility window has been extended from 12 to 15 years after completion of the PhD.
This change means that a broader group of researchers may now be eligible to apply for ERC funding.
In light of this update, we would also like to get an overview of planned grant applications within BMS for the coming year, so that we can provide timely and well-targeted grant support.
If you are considering applying for individual or collaborative grants, please get in touch. You may contact Sofia Mutlu-Numansen.
This includes, for example:
- Individual grants, such as NWO Veni, Vidi, Vici or ERC Starting, Consolidator, or Advanced Grants
- Collaborative grants, including larger NWO (e.g. NWA) calls or Horizon Europe proposals
When contacting us, it would be helpful to briefly indicate:
- The type of grant you are aiming for
- The expected timeline (if known)
- The kind of support you anticipate needing
We encourage you to reach out at an early stage. Even if your plans are still exploratory or not yet concrete, early contact helps us ensure the right level of support and coordination.
Feel free to get in touch if you have questions or would like to discuss possibilities.
