Description project
As the world changes rapidly, current-day employees need to keep developing themselves, so-called “Lifelong Learning” (LLL). Universities, including the University of Twente (UT), play an critical role, as they have both up-to-date domain knowledge and skills and tested and proven teaching skills and capacities. However, teaching for working professionals differs in many ways from teaching university students, hence 1) the university needs infrastructure to efficiently organize LLL educational activities and 2) university personnel needs support to develop effective and demand-driven LLL activities.
In this project, a wide consortium of UT personnel will develop the digital infrastructure necessary for LLL at the UT. Our group is primarily involved with developing the content and associated structure of the digital LLL-platform to support personnel teaching in LLL for professionals. There, university personnel will be able to find performance support for all steps of the LLL teaching process: making the business case, selecting and designing appropriate learning activities, executing them effectively, and evaluating the impact. The platform will be useful for different levels of LLL experience and different needs.
Expected outcomes
The expected outcome is digital infrastructure for LLL activities at the UT, including an accessible digital LLL-platform, where university personnel can develop and support their LLL-teaching skills.
