Since 2009, I am working at Trimbos Institute after graduating from the Clinical- and Health Psychology Master at the University of Utrecht. At Trimbos Institute I worked as a scientific researcher on different projects in mental health promotion. Examples of projects are the development of interventions to prevent problematic alcohol and drug use for people with a mild mental disability, monitoring activities and developments in preventive mental health care institutes in the Netherlands, and study the effectiveness of an online forum for the bereaved by suicide.

Since march 2013 I started my PhD at Twente University at the department Psychology, Health & Technology in cooperation with Trimbos Institute.

Research projects

The aim of the PhD-project is to investigate well-being, resilience and flourishing. I use data from a national representative study of mental health in the Dutch population (NEMESIS-2) and I will investigate in a randomized controlled trial a recently developed self-help intervention in which well-being, resilience and flourishing are promoted in the Dutch population. This intervention is based on positive psychological research and will be compared with a waiting list control group. Further, I will examine the psychometric properties of the Dutch version of the Flourishing Scale, which is used in our study.

Supervisors in the study are dr. M.E. Pieterse and dr. C.H.C Drossaert (daily tutors), prof. dr. E.T. Bohlmeijer (first promotor) and prof. dr. J.A. Walburg (second promotor).
