Dr. Hans C. Ossebaard is a clinical and developmental psychologist. After a decade of research in mental health, drug use and addiction at Utrecht University, Intox, Trimbos-institute and Jellinek Prevention, he worked as a policy advisor at the Ministry of Health in the field of information, knowledge and research. At the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) where he worked as a product manager at the healthcare portal and developed a strategic research program on consumer healthy informatics and eHealth. He publishes and lectures on the analysis of information needs; search behavior; accessibility and usability; effectiveness of decision aids; public health informatics; risks of eHealth technology; and ‘One Health’ at the Department of Psychology and Health and IGS-Center for eHealth Research at the UT. He is associated with EurSafety Healthnet, a German-Dutch collaborative project for infectious disease prevention and control with the University Medical Center Groningen. Apart from the UT he is currently affiliated as eHealth advisor with the national Health Care Institute (Health Care Quality Institute). See: LinkedIn
