Mareike graduated in Psychology at the University of Twente (specialization: Positive Psychology & Technology) and obtained a pre-master in business administration. During her Bachelor and Master theses, she discovered her interest in improving the quality of healthcare and especially from the patient’s perspective. Since May 2016, Mareike is pursuing a PhD in the department Psychology, Health and Technology.

Research projects

During her PhD, Mareike will evaluate and standardize patient-reported outcome measures for patients with rheumatic diseases, with the aim to enable the international comparison and improvement of treatment outcomes. During the first two years of her PhD trajectory, she will facilitate a consensus group of experts in developing a standard set of outcome measures for patients with inflammatory arthritis. Mareike is supervised by Martijn Oude VoshaarHarald Vonkeman and Mart van de Laar.
