UT philosophy professor Nolen Gertz to keynote Romanian conference on nihilism and technology

Nolen Gertz, Associate Professor of Applied Philosophy at the University of Twente, will be the keynote speaker at a conference on Gertz's book Nihilism and Technology that will be held at West University of Timișoara on Thursday, May 28.

Author of the book "Nihilism and Technology" and one of the sources of inspiration for the project "Nietzsche says it's way past your bedtime", Nolen Gertz explores how technology and digital platforms shape the rhythm of contemporary life.
The conference proposes a discussion about continuous activity, the pressure to always be connected, and the difficulty of breaking out of the logic of permanent functioning - from infinite scrolling and constant notifications to the transformation of attention and our relationship with meaning.

Following the conference, there will be a performance by adepth infusion based on nihilism and technology called "Nietzsche says it's way past your bedtime".
