UT philosophy professor Nolen Gertz to present on AI movies at Museum Nacht Enschede on November 8

Nolen Gertz, Associate Professor of Applied Philosophy at the University of Twente, will be presenting "mini philofilmcolleges" on AI movies at the Concordia Film Theatre as part of the MuseumNacht Enschede festival on Saturday, November 8:

Since 1957, AI has been depicted in movies as the utopian answer to all our problems and as the ultimate dystopian punishment for our hubris in thinking we should not only create AI, but that we could control AI. In this talk, Nolen Gertz (Associate Professor of Applied Philosophy at the University of Twente) will provide a guided tour of the history of AI movies and discuss how such movies have influenced what we think AI is and what AI should be.

Museumnacht Enschede

The AI movies mini philofilmcolleges will be performed 3 times on November 8th: 2000-2020, 2100-2120, 2200-2220
