In summer 2012, Kira joined the department as PhD student. Her research concentrates on the role of the European Commission in the EU’s legislative process and is funded by NOW’s “Research Talent” grant. Specifically, in her thesis she will analyze in how far factors such as national or partisan ties influence the Commissioners in performing their role as legislative agenda-setters. Kira studied European Studies at the UT, and completed her Master in Political Science at the University of Mannheim (Germany).
