If you did not registered for the barbeque at first registration, please send an email to orahs2012@utwente.nl with category `social program’.

Wednesday: Trip to Giethoorn

Giethoorn is a small village in the East of The Netherlands. The canals, the uncountable characteristic wooden arch bridges and the little reed covered farm houses and beautiful gardens have given Giethoorn the nickname the Venice of Holland. It became famous, especially after 1958, when the Dutch film maker Bert Haanstra made his famous comedy "Fanfare" there.

We will discover Giethoorn by a tour with small boats, go picnicking on a beautiful island and conclude the day with a dinner by the waterside. All food and transportation is included.

Thursday: Gala Dinner

The gala-dinner will be served in restaurant De Jaargetijden, located in a beautiful park near Enschede Central Station. Drinks are included. Busses will collect delegates at the University grounds and at the Broeierd Hotel. With public transport: take bus 1 from Enschede Central Station and exit at the first stop (Volkspark). Transportation back to your hotel is not included.

A short overview of the Accompanying Person’s Program is also available.
